X-AVT200 is an HDMI to USB video capture dongle that allows to capture external HDMI signals directly on the PC / laptop. PCs and laptops do not normally have an HDMI input. This means that external video sources, e.g. from another PC or a games console, cannot be recorded directly or streamed via the PC. The X-AVT200 from sonero closes exactly this gap. The video capture dongle converts an HDMI input signal into an H.264 compatible USB signal that is compatible with all PCs and most software such as OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). This allows windows and image sections to be easily arranged and a combined signal from e.g. webcam, desktop and external HDMI source to be recorded to a file or streamed to appropriate platforms.

On the input side, HDMI 1.4 AV signals with up to 10.2 Gbps and a resolution of 4K@30Hz can be captured and output at max. 1080p@60Hz at the USB-A side. The colour spaces RGB, YCbCr and YUV (4:2:0 to 4:4:4) are supported with 8 / 10 /12 bit at 1080p resolution, or max. 8 bit at 4K@30. The incoming HDMI audio signal is processed in LPCM 2.0 format. Any signal that is not HDCP copy-protected can be processed. This includes PC, Android devices and game consoles such as the PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch. The integrated automatic detection of the input video format allows for universal compatibility and enables quick setup without manual configuration. Thanks to the use of the universal H.264 video codec, direct Plug&Play compatibility with OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) as well as the vast majority of capture software is assured. The USB interface communicates according to the USB 2.0 standard and is therefore fully compatible with all older and newer hardware running Windows, Linux or macOS.

The dongle in a plastic housing is very compact, measuring 51 x 31 x 13mm and weighing 16g. It is connected to the PC without cables and directly powered via USB consuming max. 1.75W. A separate power supply is therefore not required. The LED on the upper side of the dongle indicates the connection status.

A bilingual manual (DE / EN) is included in the delivery, which contains exact step-by-step instructions for setting up the dongle with OBS.
