Extended Compatibility
The adapter converts signals from DisplayPort (plug) to HDMI-A (socket) and therefore extends the compatibility of sources with DisplayPort output effectively by a HDMI port for HDMI-ready screens. The adapter is, however, not bidirectionally (from HDMI source to DisplayPort sink) usable!
