Celerity Active Optical Cables (AOC) allow higher bandwidths for 4K / UltraHD to perform better over distances up to 100ft / 30m. AOC cables are always directional, to pass the A/V signal successfully. The signal is decoded to separate its power, video and control signals at the starting point (Source). At the end point (Display) the signal is encoded to its original signal to be received by the TV. The USB version does not transmit AV. The CL2 jacket rating is an electrical industry safety rating for the jacket material so that the cables may be hidden inside walls or ceilings with no risk of the cable jacket heating up.
